Zombie Attack!!

Got some new crafts done this month! It feels so good to craft! It makes me so happy! :)

First up is my coffee table. It's a cheap, but well made coffee table my mom found on Craigslist. It came paired with a side table that I'll redo eventually. It was black and chipped, and with my chocolate brown couch, 2 burgundy lounge chairs, and 3 dark bookshelves, my living room was insanely dark. It seriously need some brightening up. With a very small budget, i spent way more than I intended. Plexiglas is expensive! But I wanted this REALLY badly.

This was my table before
And this is after.

Ever seen P.S. I Love You? Holly has a coffee table that's covered in photo's, it's beautiful! I wanted that. I had leftover paint from repainting my back door at the Beaufort house. It's not a bad color. It's a bright grey/green/blue. It's a nice color. It really brightened up the living room. I spent $20 at Walmart for 100 photos of friends, family, my wedding, and a bunch of other memories. Then I layered them all over the top and covered it all with Plexiglas. I didn't go all the way to the edge just in case someone spilled something so it wouldn't seep under the glass and get my pictures. I'm so excited I finally finished it.

I made this for my soon to be niece. Her room is all Hello Kitty and she needed something to go over her bed. So here's my gift. It's four canvas' so they can be placed however she chooses. They came out really well.

I've been meaning to make this since September, when we moved back to Nashville. Inside the shadow box is a welcome booklet for the Beaufort and Port Royal area we got the first day we moved there, a map of Beaufort, an outline of our house key, the dates we move to and from, and a hand full of seashells Jerad and I found on the beach the last time we were there.

And finally, with the left over pictures from the coffee table and some of the left over Plexiglas(BTW I had enough left over to not only make this but also cover both side tables in my bedroom) I made something to go over my own bed.

Once I gather some more crafting funds, I'll be giving a makeover to my small bookcase, TV stand, 3 side tables, chest of drawers, and my dresser. Hopefully one day I can afford to buy several yards of fabric and recover my couch in a brighter color and make it less attractive to dog hair.

By the way, did anyone else see the Pilot of Amazon's Zombieland TV series? It was awesome! Remember the first rule of Zombieland. Cardio. I'll die first...

Rain Art

I think I've done it! I think I've perfected my rain painting. It's anything but boring and it has the perfect amount of chaos and drips.

I made this for my cousin Kacey. She's pregnant with her second child. The budget in my house doesn't have much wiggle room for baby shower gifts, but I already had a canvas and paint in my house. She had expressed an interest in one of these with two kids once her second was born. I think this was a great substitute for a baby gift.

I had so much fun making this one! And I love tweaking the silhouettes I find online to look like my friends and family. With this one, it took quite a bit of altering. I got lucky with little Miss Mayah. Just had to change her hair and make her taller. Kacey needed to be taller, longer dress, and shorter hair. Na-Na took the most work. His hair needed to be changed, head tilted more, change of clothes, added and arm, and a hand. The silhouette of a man I found was wearing a suit, holding a martini at his side and a hand in his pocket. I made Jerad stand in front of me in this position so I could draw a realistic arm holding an umbrella.

It was still amazing to make. I want to make some more.

Rain Silhouette

I made this last week for a friend. The heights are correct for the people. I used a ruler.:) She has short hair, as does the painting, and he's in the military so his silhouette has a military fade. I loved personalizing this to make it look like my friend and her boyfriend. I seriously had fun making this for her.

Crafts

So several people have asked me to make them crafts or sell them my crafts. A couple of people have told me I need to open my own Etsy shop, but I'm horribly afraid of not selling anything and still having to pay for those posting fees. So for now, I'm just going to show the people I know what I've made and see if I get any bites.

P.S. I hate telling people what how much money to give me, so if anyone wants anything made, I can give you a rough estimate of the cost for supplies, but otherwise just tell me what you think is fair. But please don't stiff me.
I made this wreath for my brothers girlfriend.
I could make this is two different sizes with any colors, feathers, letters, or flowers.

This is an adaptation of the popular crayon melting. It's a lot easier and I have a lot more control over where my colors go. I made this for a friend with a daughter. That's not an actual silhouette of my friend and her kid. I found them online and scaled them to the same size and painted them.

This is the same thing, but for a different friend and her girlfriend. I could do this in any size, different people, and any color.

This was a bored afternoon. I had spare canvas', paint, tape, and water.

This is a close up. The paint splashes were sprayed with water to create a watercolor look.
I've made more than this, but I've given them away as gifts and don't have pictures of them.

The next few pictures are just examples of thing I've drawn. I'm not an artist. I don't just paint from my head. I need pictures. If I see a picture I can duplicate it, but I can't create from nothing.

I made this one for my wedding. Instead of a guestbook, I painted a tree, a swing, a heart with mine and Jerad's initials, and our full names and wedding date below the tree. Then Jerad and I put our fingerprints on the swing and our guests put theirs on the branches with their names or initials.

I can make anything else anyone would like, an example being anything off Pinterest. So If you'd like me to make you anything or commission me for something, just email me at lindsayj.frazier@gmail.com and we'll work something out. Let me know!

I Promise I Didn't Eat This All in One Day!

So I don't think anyone really reads this, and I'm suuuuper lazy, so here is a big combined blog of nearly a weeks worth of food.

This is Bruschetta N' Cheese Stuffed Chicken. Holy Bologna is it good! Very easy and very delicious, but it does not keep well. By the next day, the left overs smelled like rancid raccoon. The only variation I made to the recipe was how the chicken was stuffed. The recipe says to roll the chicken with the stuffing inside. I butterflied the chicken and then just folded the chicken back over the stuffing. I think much easier. I will be making this again. Recipe Here.

This night, we made Bourbon Chicken. I've had my fair share of disastrous Asian chicken recipes, but this was delicious. Jerad made from scratch fried rice to go with it. Recipe Here

This recipe was sort of... eehhhhh. It was good, but boring. A great base soup for other flavors. It was potato soup in the crock pot using hash browns. But again it was sort of boring. Add a lot of cheese, or bacon, or green onion, or sausage, or anything with great flavor and this could be something special. I added green onion, cheese, and bacon. Then paired it with toasted Ciabatta bread. Umm. Recipe Here.

THIS M&M COOKIE PIE WAS FOO SHIZZLE THE GREATEST DESSERT EVER!!! As you can see, the men in my house couldn't even wait until I took a picture to dig into this one. I made 2 of these last week, because I only got 1 piece and it was gone in 6 hours. Recipe Here.

This is my favorite pasta. It is soo good, but it definitely tastes better if you use fresh vegetables. It's so good. Have I said it's so good yet? Recipe Here.

I just made this, Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Brownies. Like 10 minutes ago. My only issue is that it uses only a small portion of a can of pumpkin puree, and I am never going to use the rest of that can so it sits in my fridge for 2 weeks. I feel like I'm wasting food. These are really good, but the batter is really thick and a bit difficult to mix by hand. Otherwise, I'll make this again. Recipe Here.

On another note, last night was Halloween. Jerad has a family and friends dinner party every year so we went. He told me everyone dresses up, so I had too. I am WAY to cheap to buy myself a costume, but face paint is extremely cheap and I have a steady hand. So this year I wore all black, the cape I bought for my friends Halloween wedding last year, and then did this to my face.

I dyed my hair blue a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't just for Halloween. It's been pink for months, but blue is just AMAZING. It's my favorite.
The costume party was less of a costume party and more of a dinner where Jerad and I were the only one dressed up, we watched the news, and counted how many children came to the house. It was okay. The fun part was when Jerad and I were walking around the neighborhood. All the kids kept yelling, "LOOK! There's the Marine Man!!" and a group of little girls called me The Walking Witch. The apparently thought I was a real witch, pretending to be a pretend witch, and I was picking out the children I was going to kidnap. I can't wait to have kids. :)
