Career
Well, I am FINISHED with Cosmetology school. Graduated from Paul Mitchell on June 10th. Took nearly a month for the state of Tennessee to get my information into the PSI system. So I took my Theory qualifying test, which requires extensive knowlede of all chemicals used in hair styling and the make up of the human body (ie. bones, organs, muscles, veins, and skin conditions). I passed with an 82. Pretty good I'd say, on a 110 question test. Next part was the Practical qualifying test, which nearly took another month for them to let me sign up. This test was done on a maniquin. 6 Parts. Chemical (virgin color application, color retouch application, relaxer retouch application, and virgin relaxer application), Shampooing (Making sure the doll head was completely clean of all chemicals)*, 90 Degree Haircut (cutting the exactly 90 degrees from where it lays on the head. Creates an AWFUL haircut, but really shows your skils), Perming (parting the hair for a perm, wrapping 5 rods, showing that you know how to apply perm solution, and making sure there are no fish hooks), Thermal portion (Round brushing the hair dry, and placing an on-base/off-base/1/2-base curl on the top of the head), and finally Fingerwave (styling 1930's fingerwaves into the hair and creating 2 pin curls at the base). I passed with an 81. So now that I'm a qualified Cosmetologist, I am job hunting vigorusly whilst I await the arrival of my license.
*After the shampooing, my clumsy came out. As I reached my station, I realized that the cap of my shampoo had somehow fallen off and I was holding the bottle UPSIDE DOWN. So I then proceeded to crawl on my hands and knees, wiping up the mess i had made, all the way down the room and around the corner...
Romance
Jerad and I are still going strong. The long distance is starting to take it's toll, but we're working through it. The 28th throught the 3rd, I flew down to South Carolina and spent a week, a perfect week, taking pre-marital classes with Jerad. I am 100% sure, he is the only man for me. On a side note, I am never stepping foot in another airport. I don't like flying to begin with. When I got to the airport, Jerad had forgotten which airport I was at, so he drove to the wrong one. I had to sit at that airport for 3 hours. On my flight out, I got to the airport at 2. Hung out with Jerad and then got to my gate at 3:11. Waited for my flight at 3:30. At 3:30, went and asked the man if our plane was running late, who then informed me that that plane had left at 3:10. So again, I waited till 7:00pm, hopped on a plane to Baltimore, waited till 9:50 and took another plane to Nashville. NEVER stepping into another airport again....
Wedding
The wedding's coming along. Going to look for a cake this weekend. Anyone have ideas for what we can do in the 20 minutes between the ceremony and the reception while we're all standing in the lobby?
The Future
Moving to South Carolina in November. Turns out, I don't have to worry about a job when I get down there. Military spouses have first dibs when it comes to jobs on and off base. yay!! Also, I won't have to live down there for a whole year. Jerad's taking some classes that are going to get him out even quicker, somewhere around 4 months earlier, which is great, because his deployment date has moved up even further and for some reason, they are still planning to send him, even if its for a couple months and not the whole year.
And now I'm done talking about myself...
